SOCIAL WORKER AND PSYCHOLOGY THERAPIST

GARY X

Gary, the PRINCIPLE COUNSELLOR AND SUPPORT COORDINATOR, has possessed sophisticated bi-lingual (English and Chinese) counselling and case-management skills and knowledge with excellent communication and collaboration tactics. He has extensive expertise in counselling people with dual diagnosis (intellectual disability and mental health), complex needs, ASD and relationship issues. Gary also has the special interest and expertise in working with young people (including those under Child Safety Order) and people from non-English background (including refugees and asylum seekers).

Gary has been working as a social worker and counsellor with a Master Degree in Queensland Department of Communities, Disability Services and Child Safety, many NGOs in community services, Queensland Transcultural Mental Health Centre, Royal Brisbane and Women‘s Hospital, International Federation of Social Workers Asian-Pacific Region and his private practice in Australia for over 13 years with prior 7-year working experience in China.

ZUKI C

Zuki is an experienced social worker who is committed to advocate for disadvantage and vulnerable clients from a diverse background. Bringing forth a strong understanding of working with children, young people and families with complex needs. She has extensive interpersonal and communication skills to maintain effective collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Being a social worker from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, She has a strong cultural sensitivity and awareness, which allows her to provide culturally competent case coordination.

LINDA Z

Linda has years of practical experience in both Australia and China in community services and hospital settings. Her first degree was social work and is now finishing a master’s degree in mental health. She approaches people with her whole heart, delivering efficient assessment, coordination and therapeutic intervention to her clients. She is dedicated to help people from cultural diversity background to have better access to services with her knowledge in health and NDIS system.

DR JERRY Z

Jerry has his Doctor degree in Social Work here in Australia and has had  seven-year practical working experience in tutoring and training social work students from diverse cultural background in universities. He also has considerable experience and interest in working with young people and people with mental health issues.

MING Z

Ming is an experienced Social Worker in community mental health setting and aged care with advanced social work clinical skills in assessment,

care planning, suicide prevention and risk assessment. Ming possesses skillful knowledge in advocacy and care coordination. He has extensive

knowledge about NDIS and My Aged Care with special expertise in service navigation across different systems.

OTHERS

All of other clinicians have formal tertiary education and extensive clinical experience. They can provide culturally- appropriate and professional services.

 

COUNSELLOR

DR BING SHERIBEL V

Bing is a passionate, proactive, well-organized and competent Level 3 ACA registered Counsellor with PhD in Educational Management and Masters in Guidance and Counselling. She also studied Master of Educational Studies at the University of Queensland. She fluently speaks Tagalog, Ilocano and English. With almost 10 years of professional counselling experience, she provides a high-quality evidence-based, person-centred approach to clients with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety and PTSD. She adeptly deals with young people having issues like low self-esteem and self-confidence, lacks resiliency and motivation, stress and anger management, problem-solving, social and communication skills. Bing also offers counselling for relationship issues, parenting as well as work-related concerns.

DEREK W

Derek is a qualified ACA counsellor, with extensive knowledge of a variety of counselling modalities, including acceptance commitment therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, mindful self-compassion training, career counselling, and relationship counselling. Working with empathy and respect, Derek brings a person-centre approach to counselling practice. He has been supporting clients of all ages to

address their needs and enhance their potential in the journey of recovery. Coming from a CALD background, Derek is competent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.

 

DIETITIAN

MACY K

Macy is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) based in Brisbane. She is passionate to support clients to achieve their health goals by providing high-quality health and nutrition counselling. She helps clients to find a “food-life-balance” and to design a care plan that clients feel confident to implement. Macy provides nutrition advice based on scientific evidence. Macy has diverse interests and knowledge in food and nutrition based on her wide exposure to food cultures in the cities she lived in, including Hong Kong, the U.S and Australia. She is competent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

 

ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANT

KELLY F

Kelly is a new social worker graduate. Kelly has built her interest in working in the community. She would love to provide support to people in need and help them build up their strengths and confidence while engaging with the community.

Kelly tends to build on her skills and knowledge through professional social work practice. She has the interest in becoming a support coordinator and a counsellor as her career goals.

KATIE Y

Katie is a professional, hardworking, collaborative, and intelligent social worker graduate. She can speak Chinese, Cantonese, English fluently. Since she is coming from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, she is really passionate about supporting people with CALD backgrounds to overcome the existing barriers to improve their quality of life. Additionally, her university master degree in Social Work arms her with an excellent training of skill in listening, caring ,empowering and showing respect to other people. You’ll find her as an enthusiastic, friendly and reliable person.

LI-MING Y

With a master’s degree in theology and diploma in counselling, Li-Ming has a vision to help people find and live in a fulfilled life. Li-Ming has been practising her counselling skills in community workplaces and at church environment. Li-Ming was born and grow up in Taiwan, studied in United States and Australia. The experience of living in different countries helps Li-Ming easily communicate with people from different culture and backgrounds. As a mother of a teenager, Li-Ming loves to work with children and young people. Li-Ming also has the passion to see people recover from their past emotional wounds and damaged relationships between couples and parent-child.

JOCELYN L

Jocelyn is a student of psychological science (honour) student of University of Queensland and has possessed sophisticated bilingual (English and Chinese) language skills. She has had three years of practical working experience in tutoring students from diverse cultural background in high schools and universities. She also has interest in providing support to people in need with considerable experiences in customer services. She is patient and supportive help others solve their problems.  As a dance crew member, she likes working in a team and always has the positive attitude.
